2004 Volkswagen T5 T30 Campervan — Video Tour

Welcome to the virtual tour for our T5 VW camper van. We've had this six years, bought it as a entry-level van in order to get into camping. We've done several upgrades since then, and I've absolutely loved it. On the front features, we've got LED headlights.

We put those in, game changer when it comes to driving at night. You can see the awning at the top there. Whilst it's not out at the moment, it comes in and out really easy. We use it all the time.

The wheels, a few little scratches around the edge. The camper van paintwork generally good. A few tiny scratches from those hedgerows around the Devon and Cornwall countryside. It's got barn doors at the back.

We're also going to put in an awning which fits over those barn doors for those wet, rainy days, which will come as part of it. Up on the top, if you can just about see, if I'm tall enough, you can see the roof rails, but also roof bars that will come with it, and the solar panel. The solar panel we've used all summer, really good for about three days off-grid. We haven't really taken it much further than that, but it's been really good for us.

Just have a quick look in the cab itself. You can see the blue and grey upholstery in good condition. Other key features in the front here, the Pioneer audio system there. That's also got Apple CarPlay and the speaker up there for when you want to be hands-free.

Just a quick look at the dashboard. 130,000, 311 mileage, pretty good for a 2004 van. Double bench seat is also a swivel seat, just to give you an indication of quite how much storage is inside one of these. Absolutely loads.

You can see the awning lever for the pull-out awning. A couple of screws there, they will undo bolts, and they're still on the back. That will spin around, but it's also on rails. The advantage of that means you can slide it to and from your table when you're in a camping position.

One of the key features I loved about this van is the fact that the rock and roll bed is on rails. That gives you ultimate flexibility of what you can use your van for and what you can take. In this position, seats pretty much all the way forward. I've put mountain bikes in the back, also kayaks.

You've got lots and lots of storage here in the back unit, which you can access both from the back and from the inside. Both up top, down below, and the leisure battery. As you can see, the solar unit is in the back there. Moving forward, have a look at the camping setup from the front.

When the seat's in that fully forward position, it's quite nice if you've got kids and you don't want them too far away from you when you're driving. Or if, in fact, you'd like them a little bit further away from you when you're driving, it's really easy to move that seat back. Also, when you're in the camping setup, having it as far back as you can gives you absolutely loads of living space and lots and lots of storage. Just to talk you through that a little bit, the fridge here, the Dometic CRX, is amazing.

Holds loads and loads of food. It's got a removable freezer compartment, so if you just want more fridge storage, that will pop out. But that is fantastic, really efficient, and it doesn't drain the leisure battery, so a really great addition. You can see the gas stored underneath there, very easy to access and change.

Likewise, the water, you've got the in and the waste both tucked under there. And then there is absolutely loads of additional storage throughout. Not to mention the shelf up the top for teas, coffees, mugs or whatever you wish to use it for. Cooking arrangements, double gas hob.

We've never cooked greasy, oily things in here. Only mainly use it for the kettle and if you're boiling things. So in terms of bacon, sausages and all that, we've always done that outside just to keep it cleaner and fresher in here. And the sink, electric water pump.

And in the back here, you can see the three pin plugs for electric hook-up and then the USBs and lights and so forth when you're off-grid. So going up top, we've got windows either side. They've got mosquito nets, which also zip down and these will zip up. Viewing window at the front, which zips up and that's the other window already zipped up.

And up top, we use just a normal mattress topper. We've cut it down to size. We've also fitted a net to catch your pillows should they fall off, because that's really annoying when you're sleeping up top. That was a really neat addition.

And what will also come with the van will be the windscreen and window wraparound cover, which is both thermal and keeps the light out at night. So that's all I have to share with you.
