Disputes are handled through The Motor Ombudsman, under whose Vehicle Warranty Products Code Warranty First is accredited.

Any quotation, repair plan document and claim decision is issued by Warranty First, not by us. We may receive a commission from Warranty First when a customer we introduce takes out a repair plan. This does not affect the price you pay.

Who Warranty First Are

Warranty First is the trading name of WF Motor Trade Limited (Companies House 09201276), a UK vehicle repair-plan provider based in Peterborough. They have around 11 years of trading history and are accredited by The Motor Ombudsman under the Vehicle Warranty Products Code. They were “Highly Commended” for Warranties at the Car Dealer Magazine Awards 2025.

What a Vehicle Repair Plan Is (and Isn't)

A Warranty First vehicle repair plan is a contractual arrangement under which, on a discretionary basis and according to its own published terms, Warranty First will contribute to or fund the cost of repairs to listed components if they fail mechanically or electrically within the plan period.

It is not insurance. Because the plan is discretionary, it sits outside the FCA insurance regime. There is no cover from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, and complaints are not referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Instead, Warranty First is accredited under The Motor Ombudsman's Vehicle Warranty Products Code, which provides a free dispute-resolution mechanism.

    If you proceed, the plan is between you and Warranty First. They handle claims directly. Motorhome Pig is not party to the plan.

Why is this called a 'repair plan' and not a warranty or insurance?

Warranty First describes its product as a vehicle repair plan that operates on a discretionary basis. It is not a contract of insurance. That is a deliberate legal structure used by parts of the UK aftermarket warranty industry to sit outside the FCA insurance regime. The practical effect for you is that disputes are handled by The Motor Ombudsman rather than the Financial Ombudsman Service, and there is no Financial Services Compensation Scheme cover.

Are habitation issues (fridge, water ingress, cooker) covered?

Yes. All three tiers include habitation-area cover for cassette toilet, fridge, water ingress, cooker and heating, water system, and gas system, in addition to drivetrain cover. The full list of components covered, and any conditions, is in the plan document Warranty First will issue with your quote.

Can I buy a repair plan after I've taken delivery?

Often yes — Warranty First administer plans on used motorhomes and will set out the available start dates and any vehicle inspection requirements when they quote you. The earlier you ask the better, because some plan benefits depend on the plan being in place at handover.

What's not covered?

All repair plans have exclusions. These vary by tier and are set out in full in the plan document Warranty First issue with your quote. Motorhome Pig does not advise on what is and isn't covered — please read the plan document carefully and direct any questions about scope to Warranty First.

Where do I take a complaint?

If you have a complaint about a repair plan or a claim decision, take it up directly with Warranty First in the first instance. If you are unhappy with their response, you can refer the matter free of charge to The Motor Ombudsman under the Vehicle Warranty Products Code. Warranty First is accredited under that code.
