Motorhome Pig is proud to offer this 1985 Mercedes-Benz Hymermobil S550 as a broker, on behalf of the private owner. It is a left-hand drive coachbuilt by Hymer, with a rear lounge layout and a drop-down bed, plus a garage the owner notes is used for folding chairs.
The arrangement makes it a practical choice for couples or a small family, with the rear lounge giving a comfortable place to sit and eat before the bed comes down at night. The owner advises it is a non-smoker vehicle.
On the owner's own account, the interior was reupholstered around eight years ago and a double glazed rooflight is fitted. He also advises a new Malaga water heater, a new starter motor, a new cab battery, a recent 450w solar panel with a 100/30 Victron regulator, and that the Truma room heater was serviced two years ago. He adds that oil and filters are changed every 5,000 miles. This is now a historical vehicle so no longer needs a MOT or tax, DVLA sent a letter confirming this

Buyer enquiring via eBay, away until 9 Nov, wants to know if still available and where it is, and would like to view after he returns.
The owner is abroad until April and the motorhome is in secure storage at his home with no access in the meantime, so it can't be viewed from 9 November. Viewings won't be possible until he's back in April.
Buyer John texted on 31 Oct 2026 asking what "drop-down bed" means on this listing: the rear lounge table dropping into the gap, or a separate bed that drops down. The advert doesn't say which, so I'm asking the owner.

Buyer John enquired via the website today (31 Oct 2026) and asked by SMS whether the drop-down bed is the lounge table lowering or a separate ceiling bed. He has also said there are no clear photos of it. I'm asking the owner to explain, and to send a photo if he can. I told the buyer extra photos aren't guaranteed.

Buyer Ian (Autotrader enquiry, 2 Nov 2026) asked if someone else could facilitate a viewing before April. Owner has previously said no access until April; this asks specifically about someone else showing it.
Unfortunately not. The motorhome is kept in secure storage that also holds the owner's plant and machinery, so nobody else can get access while he's away. It won't be possible to view it until he's back in April.
