Motorhome Pig is pleased to offer this 1996 Peugeot Boxer coachbuilt motorhome as a broker, on behalf of the private owner.

Questions & Answers

Q

Buyer N Hawthorne enquired via the listing and asked if there's an awning included.

A

Yes, an awning is included — it's attached to the motorhome and can be seen in the photos.

Q

Buyer Deptol enquired via the listing asking about the motorhome's background, overall condition, and length of ownership.

A

The overall condition is good for its age and mileage. The owner has had it for about 16 months. There are no service records in the motorhome.

Q

Buyer Robert Brownlie enquired via the listing and asked "Will you MOT it?"

A

No — it will be sold without an MOT. The motorhome needs work to pass an MOT, which is the reason the price has been reduced, so it's being sold as it is for the buyer to sort themselves.

Q

Buyer John Kelly enquired via the listing asking if it's still available, whether it's driving, and whether it has MOT and tax.

A

Yes — it drives really well and starts with no bother. The owner's father-in-law was using it constantly right up until the MOT expired, so it's driveable rather than needing recovering away.

Q

Buyer Zoe enquired via eBay asking about the MOT/advisories and whether the cambelt has ever been changed.

A

The owner's father-in-law advises there's no history showing of a timing belt (cambelt) having been changed.

Q

Buyer Anthony Carberry enquired via eBay about the 1996 Compass Drifter asking "Is there any damp".

A

There's no damp in the motorhome. It hasn't had a formal damp test, but there are no signs of any damp or water ingress.

Q

Buyer Jon Ainsworth enquired via eBay about the 1996 Compass Drifter asking "Any power steering?"

A

Yes — the Boxer is fitted with power steering.

Q

Buyer Edward Kerrigan enquired via AutoTrader about the 1996 Compass Drifter and asked for photos of the seating.

A

The owner is away for a few weeks and his father-in-law is in hospital, so extra photos of the seating aren't possible at the moment. However, the seats have all been refurbished and are in great condition — they can be seen in the video walkthrough and in some of the existing advert photos.

Q

Buyer Leanne (WA11, Merseyside) enquired via eBay asking "could delivery be arranged to Merseyside".

A

Collection only — it's for the buyer to collect from Glasgow. The buyer is welcome to arrange their own transport/transporter to collect it; delivery isn't something the seller can arrange.

Q

Buyer Hazel asked about heating/water among other questions (service history, damp, tyres, bed layout, storage, MOT) - heating and water details aren't in the listing or seller details.

A

There's a working water heater and hot water, and the water system is all in working order. For heating, the owner simply used an electric fan heater when needed, hooked up to an electric supply.

Q

Buyer Wayne Burrough enquired via eBay about the 1996 Compass Drifter. He can't see a rear lounge in the photos and wants to understand the actual seating layout inside.

A

The owner has confirmed it isn't a rear lounge. The seating is a bench down each side which pull together to form the bed.

Q

Claire Hagelburg enquired via Gumtree about the 1996 Compass Drifter 360, asking about MOT, service history and whether the vehicle has any damage.

A

No major damage — just the usual wear and tear you'd expect for the vehicle's age.

Q

Robert Allan enquired via AutoTrader on the 1996 Compass Drifter 360 (Peugeot Boxer, listed £5,000, sold without MOT) asking whether the owner has had a repair quote to get it through an MOT for next season, noting it appears to require work.

A

No quotes have been obtained for the MOT work. The owner's father-in-law is now 80 and travelling very little, so the work hasn't been priced up. The failure items are listed in the MOT history, which can be seen on the MOT check on our listing or via the DVLA/gov.uk MOT history service.

A quick honest note

Because you're buying directly from the owner, the condition of the motorhome is yours to judge on the day - and that's a good thing (it's why there's no dealer markup). We verify ownership and run an HPI check; the motorhome's condition is the one thing best judged in person. We'll give you a checklist so you can view like a pro and satisfy yourself everything's spot-on before you buy.

Our checks cover the seller and the registers, not the vehicle itself, and they rely on data supplied to us by third parties, so we can't accept responsibility for errors or omissions in it. However thorough our checks are, please arrange your own independent inspection and your own history check before you commit to buying.
