Questions & Answers
What fuel economy does the LDV Convoy return in normal use?
The owner never recorded an exact mpg figure, as their mileage was paid at a fixed rate for seasonal work. The owner says it is not cheap to run, but believes it is about average for a motorhome or Luton of that size, given its weight and boxy shape.
Has the van had any damp issues, welding, or MOT advisory work, and are there any known gearbox issues?
The owner says the van is a very dry example and has not had any damp problems since fitting a 1cm thick plastic covering over the fibreglass roof, after some hairline roof cracks when it was bought. The owner confirms it has never needed any welding and is very good on rust for its age. The owner says the June 2026 MOT advisory about slightly worn front swivel pins/bushes is not noticeable when driving and no work has been done on them since the MOT. The owner also says there has been no clutch or gearbox replacement in their ownership, although third gear can be a little sticky to engage.
