A buyer asked about the motorhome's background, overall condition, and how long it has been in your ownership.
The owner describes it as in good condition for its age (22 years, an '04 plate), both inside and out. There's no damp, and it comes with a full file of paperwork covering all the work done over its lifetime. Everything it's needed has been done during their ownership (which hasn't been much), with backup paperwork to match. The interior furnishings are in very good condition — a previous owner paid for a complete reupholster of the seats, curtains and interior trim. It's been used purely for leisure, with many miles of reliable, enjoyable travels. The owners are only selling to upgrade to a newer, smaller van. Please note the registration is not included in the sale, and the mileage may increase slightly as they're still using it.
Buyer Farquhar Steel asked specifically what the motorhome weighs when empty, as our listing only shows the MTPLM figure.
The owner doesn't know the unladen weight (MIRO) - it isn't shown on the V5C and the van hasn't been weighed. The MTPLM on file is 3,850kg.
Michael Malone enquired via AutoTrader today on both the 2004 (Kirkby Stephen) and 2005 (Warrington) Kon-Tiki 660s. He has asked whether both owners would provide a recent habitation report. The same question was already flagged to the owner of the 2005 one earlier today.
There hasn't been another habitation check since June 2022. The owner is happy for the buyer to arrange one at their own cost, provided whoever carries it out is reasonably local to the vehicle. The owner adds that there's been no evidence of damp in the time they've owned it — which is why they haven't had a further check done — and everything is as it should be and in full working order.
Buyer Merv Jackson emailed on 26 Sep 2026 saying he's still interested and asking how many owners the Kon-Tiki has had. Our records don't agree: the history report says 1 previous keeper with the last keeper change in 2007, but the seller's details say they bought it privately in July 2022. So I'm asking the owner rather than giving a figure.
The owner confirms the number of former keepers is 8.
Buyer Frank emailed 26 Sep 2026 saying someone had questioned the owner, who said the Kon-Tiki has had 8 keepers. Our 03:47 email that day said the vehicle history showed one previous keeper before the current owner (owned since 2022). Asking the owner to confirm the correct keeper count. Viewing confirmed for Sat 10 Oct 11:00, and a verification call task is already open.
The owner has checked the V5C and it shows 8 former keepers. He also notes that the private plate has been taken off the motorhome.
