2017 Volkswagen California Ocean Campervan — Video Tour

This VW T6 California Ocean campervan is in immaculate condition. It's four-wheel drive, it has a seven-speed automatic gearbox and 200bhp diesel engine. It's done just over 37,000 miles and was first registered in July 2017. With a full service history, it passed its MOT with flying colours in January and it actually recently had a thorough mechanical inspection which showed absolutely no faults.

It also passed with flying colours. There's a pop-up roof, which isn't up at the moment, but it provides a super large, the width of the van, double bed, very comfortable, and also lots of headroom inside the van to enable at least a man of six foot plus to stand with no difficulty. It's got an electric door there, which I'm going to open and show its lovely interior, the secrets in the interior. There is the double rear seat, that comes forward, slides forward, as you can see it's got runners, and also the back goes down and that forms a perfectly comfortable double bed.

There's a lovely drawer underneath, a big drawer, which is fantastic storage space. Inside, we've got a gas hob, a lovely worktop, a gas hob with two rings, and also a little sink, which has 30 litres of water, and also a pretty good sized fridge, which you open from the top. This is the table, which slides across and then comes out across the middle of the floor in front of the double seats. The two front seats can twist round to enable four people to sit round the table, which is rather fun.

And it's got loads and loads of charging points, heaters, sockets, carbon dioxide thingy, check. And it's incredibly comfortable. It's also blinds, lots of blinds. For all the windows, there are blinds and special cover for the windscreen, which is great.

The windscreen actually opens, there's a blind that comes across the windscreen, and there are special covers for the two front windows. You can also see there's a Garmin sat-nav there, which is designed specifically for camper vans. One thing I didn't mention is that on top of this roof, there is a solar panel, professionally fitted, which means that you have the huge advantage of being able to go off grid, which is really, really fun. On the back, the boots are already lifted up to show you lots and lots of space inside.

This area here is fantastic storage underneath. There's a drawer here, which was provided as an extra by VW, which is fantastically convenient for getting things out. There's also a cupboard here with a gas... I can't open it at the moment.

The gas is stored, and lots of all the bits and pieces that you need for the solar panel and so on. And that cupboard there is actually hanging space, which you can get into from inside. There's an awning at the side. That long pole here indicates the awning.

You wind the awning out with that, and then you put your picnic table and your two chairs underneath, and that's good fun. So there you are. I think that's about it. All I can say is that it's the most comfortable vehicle to ride in or to drive.

It's a joy to drive. You hardly know you're actually driving a van, except that you're quite high up. It's really great. It's powerful, and it's comfortable, and it's quiet.
