Questions & Answers

Q

Buyer David is 3.5 hours away and wants a clear picture before arranging a viewing. Asking about waste water tank, whether the bathroom closes off from the rear bed, and any known mechanical/electrical/bodywork faults.

A

No known mechanical faults — it's just sailed through its MOT. The only electrical niggles are the electric step not working and the cameras not working, which the owner believes are just fuses.

Q

Buyer Peter asked whether the heating is Truma or Alde, as the listing appears to mention both.

A

The owner confirms the rear bed area can be closed off with a door.

Q

Buyer Michael asked what the train weight is, i.e. how much the Frankia can tow.

A

The owner advises the payload is over 1 tonne (1,000kg).

Q

Chris Large enquired on the Frankia 1740 BD on 11 Sept via the website (service history, location, price). He previously looked at a 2009 Hymer S-Class but wanted something newer on a Mercedes auto base — the Frankia fits. His firm requirement is washroom/shower mid-vehicle so there's privacy at both ends when travelling with his sister. We already know from the owner that the rear bed area can be closed off with a door, but not where the washroom sits or how the second bed works.

A

The washroom/shower is mid-van, between the front lounge and the rear bedroom. The second sleeping area is a drop-down bed at the front over the cab.

Q

Buyer Malcolm asked whether the Frankia 1740 BD is a V6 3.0 litre or a 2.1.

A

The owner confirms it's the 2.1 twin turbo, as shown in the advert spec.

A quick honest note

Because you're buying directly from the owner, the condition of the motorhome is yours to judge on the day - and that's a good thing (it's why there's no dealer markup). We verify ownership and run an HPI check; the motorhome's condition is the one thing best judged in person. We'll give you a checklist so you can view like a pro and satisfy yourself everything's spot-on before you buy.

Our checks cover the seller and the registers, not the vehicle itself, and they rely on data supplied to us by third parties, so we can't accept responsibility for errors or omissions in it. However thorough our checks are, please arrange your own independent inspection and your own history check before you commit to buying.

How Buying Works

We make buying a motorhome safe, simple, and stress-free. Here's how we help you every step of the way.

1

Find Your Perfect Match

Our site is not open to the public. All sellers are under exclusive 90-day contracts with Motorhome Pig, having signed legally binding agreements. We verify the owner's identity and ownership and run HPI, finance and theft checks on every vehicle — the condition itself is yours to judge in person when you view it.

2

Meet the Real Owner

We arrange your viewing at the motorhome's location and give you everything you need to make a confident decision — including a simple checklist of what to look at, from damp and habitation to the engine and paperwork. No pressure, no salesperson — just you, the owner, and the motorhome. Take your time and ask anything.

3

Secure Handover

We provide finance options, handover guidance, and support with the V5 and paperwork. No buyer fees — the price you see is the price you pay.

💚 No Buyer Fees— The price you see is exactly what you pay. We're here to help, not add costs.

More Than Just a Motorhome

Motorhome Pig can introduce you to our partners for finance, free 14-day driveaway insurance, and vehicle repair plans.

Motorhome Pig is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We introduce customers to FCA-authorised partners for finance and insurance, and to Warranty First (a Motor Ombudsman-accredited repair plan provider) for warranty.
