2015 Peugeot Boxer Campervan Conversion

Motorhome Pig is proud to offer this 2015 Peugeot Boxer campervan conversion as a broker, on behalf of the private owner.

This is a self-conversion, built by the owner on the long-wheelbase Boxer base for his own family and used by them for the last three years. It's coming to the market simply because a second child has arrived and they now need something bigger — not because anything is wrong with it.

The electrical system

The 12V and 230V systems were designed, specified and calculated by Nohma Energy, so cable lengths, isolators and fusing were all worked out properly before anything was fitted. The owner installed it to their design, and he still has the full Nohma Energy wiring guide and specifications, which come with the van. The electrics are all Victron, and the van has been in use for three years with no electrical issues.

  • 500W solar
  • 1,200W inverter
  • Battery-to-battery (B2B) charging system
  • 280Ah battery with Bluetooth monitoring dashboard
  • 230V shore power system with four UK sockets inside

Heating

Heating is by diesel heater, plumbed directly into the vehicle's fuel tank, so there's no separate gas bottle or tank to fill for heat.

Layout and storage

The rear features a fixed bed above a full-width garage, which the owner advises accommodates a coolbox, luggage, camping gear, folding chairs, a large dog crate, an electric scooter and a portable generator. The garage door opening is 1.52m wide.

Other extras

The owner advises a drive-away Vango awning with carpets and electric pump is included, along with a tow bar, cab and habitation air conditioning, cruise control, parking sensors, alloy wheels and fridge auto energy selection. The vehicle is a non-smoker.

MOT and servicing

The engine is chain driven, so there is no cambelt to budget for. The owner advises the MOT is valid until November 2026, and that a fresh 12-month MOT and a service will be carried out before handover for the buyer who takes it.

With a confirmed weight of 2,900 kg, this conversion is driveable on a standard car licence.

Questions & Answers

Q

Lin Blake (buyer) enquired on the 2015 Peugeot Boxer today (1 Sept) asking whether the conversion was done professionally, belt type and MOT — belt and MOT answered. She's since emailed restating that she buys coachbuilts, is nervous about conversions and wants reassurance the vehicle is mechanically sound and the electrics are safe as she'll be using it solo. Asking the owner for the converter's background and detail/paperwork on the electrical install so I can come back to her.

A

The owner self-converted the van himself rather than doing it professionally. For the electrical side he used Nohma Energy — the 12V and 230V systems were designed, specified and calculated by them, so the owner fitted it to their design and, as he put it, "basically just plugged it in". He still has the full wiring guide and paperwork from Nohma Energy for the van, which goes with it. The electrics are all Victron, with 500W solar, a 1,200W inverter, B2B charging, a 280Ah battery with Bluetooth monitoring and a 230V shore power system with four UK sockets inside.

Q

Buyer Lin Blake asked whether the conversion was done professionally, what type of belt (cambelt/chain) it has, and when the MOT is due.

A

It was a self-conversion by the owner. The electrical system (12V and 230V) was designed and specified by Nohma Energy — everything was calculated and put together at their end, so the owner essentially installed it to their design and plugged it in. He still has the full wiring guide and accompanying paperwork from Nohma Energy for the van, which comes with it. All Victron electrics, 500W solar, 1,200W inverter, B2B charging, 280Ah battery with Bluetooth monitoring and a 230V shore power system with four UK sockets.

Q

Colm Bell enquired via eBay on 4 Sep about the 2015 Peugeot Boxer. He asked for a walk-round video, which we explained isn't standard. He's in north Cumbria so wants reassurance before making the journey — specifically hearing the engine run, seeing the electrics/heating demonstrated and getting a feel for the rear space.

A

The owner is happy to show a buyer round the van and walk them through how everything works, but he isn't willing to have the engine running while the buyer is sitting in the back on their own. He's also clarified the heating: there is no Truma heater — the van has a diesel heater that's plumbed into the fuel tank.
