Questions & Answers
Buyer Joe Richardson enquired via Gumtree asking specifically whether this model has Alde heating.
It isn't Alde — the heating is a Truma Combi SE system, which the owner says is very effective.
Buyer Lesley Simmons (Autotrader enquiry) emailed these questions on 24 Sep 2026, and on 23 Sep sent the same list to JJ Stevenson. I answered what I could from the seller's details (4,430kg per seller details, inverter, twin leisure batteries, no solar, no external BBQ point, full service history with last service 4 Dec 2025, last habitation check 29 Mar 2023, Falcon wireless camera, WiFi SIM). These are the questions we still need the owner to answer.
The owner has confirmed the following: 1) Maximum authorised mass (revenue weight) is 4,430kg. 2) The owner has never looked into whether it can be downplated to 3,500kg, so he can't say if that's possible. 3) The mass in running order given in the owner's paperwork is 3,361kg. 4) No solar panels. The leisure batteries are lithium (LiFePO4): 2 x 105Ah, which gives 3+ days off-grid. Other electrical extras are a permanently fitted Falcon rear-view camera and display, a Falcon WiFi roaming unit that takes a SIM card, and 2 x 3-pin sockets in the garage. 5) Yes, it has the Truma Combi 6E system, fitted when it was built. 6) There's no external gas/BBQ point. The owner didn't say whether it has an external shower point. 7) The tyres are dated 05/21 and have done about 4,800 miles. The owner takes it on regular 30-mile runs to keep the tyres flexing. 8) There are no other factory options. Extras are a Scorpion S5-VTS tracker with immobiliser, fitted new by the supplying dealer, and a twin refillable bulk gas system that is filled from the garage. Also: it has a full service history with York Van & Truck (Mercedes commercial) every 2 years, and the next service is due December 2027. It has had 2 habitation checks. In cooler weather the heating is left on with a float charge while it's parked at home. It has only been used for one week away plus about 6 single nights by the owner.
Buyer Simon (Autotrader enquiry, 11 Oct 2026) emailed at 14:10 saying he only wants Hymers and would buy this one if it were replated down to 3,500kg. Earlier the owner said he had never looked into downplating. I'm asking whether the owner is open to it. No price has been discussed.
The owner doesn't know anything about downplating and isn't able to look into it at the moment. He says the DVLA registration document shows it needs a C1 licence (over 3.5 tonnes), and the revenue weight is 4,430kg.
