Rapido 999M (Mercedes-Benz Chassis) – 2008 – V6 ABK

Automatic | 3.0L V6 CDI | 4-Berth | 4 Travelling Seatbelts

Mileage: 68143

Condition: Premium A-Class Luxury – Legendary Mercedes Engineering – Fixed Rear Bed

Motorhomepig is incredibly proud to offer this 2008 Rapido 999M. Rapido’s "M" designation denotes the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, featuring the powerhouse 3.0L V6 CDI engine. This is widely considered the "Rolls-Royce" of motorhome powerplants—providing effortless, whisper-quiet torque and legendary reliability. Having covered just 68143 miles, this A-class flagship is a rare find for those who value mechanical refinement and French boutique styling.

The "999M Luxury" Layout:

  • Permanent Rear Fixed Bed: Positioned at the rear for ultimate convenience. No nightly setup required—just climb in and enjoy a restful night's sleep on a high-quality mattress.

  • Large Drop-Down A-Class Bed: Seamlessly integrated into the ceiling above the cab, this secondary double bed lowers in seconds, providing a total of 4 comfortable berths without compromising the lounge area.

  • Spacious En-Suite Washroom: Positioned at the rear, featuring a dedicated shower cubicle, vanity sink, and cassette toilet for a true "home-from-home" feel.

  • L-Shaped Gourmet Kitchen: Equipped with a large fridge/freezer, multi-burner hob, and ample storage, perfectly suited for long-term touring.

Heavy-Duty Off-Grid & Utility Extras:

  • Roof-Mounted Solar Panels: Harvesting free power from the sun to maintain your leisure batteries, allowing for extended off-grid stays and wilderness camping.

  • Heavy-Duty Tow Bar: Perfectly suited for towing a small car, a boat, or mounting a heavy-duty e-bike rack.

  • V6 Performance: The 3.0L Mercedes engine provides incredible towing capacity and makes mountain passes feel like flat motorways.

Transparent Condition & Maintenance Notes:

At Motorhomepig, we pride ourselves on absolute transparency so buyers can view with complete confidence:

  • Licence Note: As a luxury A-class Mercedes, this vehicle typically sits on a 3,880kg chassis. Therefore, a Category C1 driving licence is required to drive it legally in the UK.

  • Integrity: Supplied with 2 sets of keys and confirmed HPI clear with no outstanding finance.

Broker's Note:

The Rapido 999M is a connoisseur’s motorhome. The combination of the Mercedes V6 automatic drivetrain and Rapido’s A-class build quality is arguably the best pairing in the industry. With added solar power and a tow bar, this vehicle is the ultimate long-distance continental cruiser. It is an honest, powerful, and beautifully appointed luxury asset.

We offer part exchange of any vehicle type including cars, motorhomes, motorbikes, or any asset of value. Warranty options from 3 to 36 months are available (subject to terms and conditions).

Walk-around videos are available upon request. Motorhomepig are proud to offer this vehicle as a broker, available to view in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Questions & Answers

Q

Buyer is asking whether the Rapido 999M has been downplated to 3,500kg and if so, how much payload is left. The seller's listing details say "Under 3,500kg" but the vehicle history report shows GVW of 3,880kg.

A

The vehicle has not been downplated. The gross vehicle weight is 3,880kg (3.8t), so a C1 driving licence is required to drive it.

Q

Buyer Anthony Lowe has asked about damp/damage history, exterior condition, any marks or scratches, and the control panel. These aren't covered in the listing details.

A

No history of damp — the motorhome was winter stored with heating and a dehumidifier. No dents or scratches that the seller is aware of — both the previous owner and current owner have really looked after it. The control panel is either Truma or CBE — the seller is checking today and will confirm.

Q

Buyer Eddie Warriner is asking for more details about the tow car mentioned in the listing — what it is and presumably whether it's included or extra.

A

The tow car is separate from the motorhome price. It's a 2010 Citroen C1 with 88,000 miles. Laura is looking for £2,000 for it, as the tow bar alone cost £1,500 plus VAT.

Q

Buyer is asking how long the owner has had the Rapido and why they are selling. They also want more specifics on the partial service history — what's included and what's missing.

A

Reason for selling: they don't use it — Laura lives and works on a holiday park. Service history: partial service history available.

Q

Buyer Stephen Comer is asking whether the heating can run on gas and/or electric (not just diesel), and whether the TV can be viewed from the lounge area or if it's only in the bedroom.

A

Heating: they only ever used electric hook-up, but there is also a diesel heater fitted — they just never used it. TV: the lounge has connections for a TV, and they put up a shelf and placed their TV on it, so yes it can be viewed from the lounge area.
