Questions & Answers
Buyer Graham Leake withdrew on 8 Sept citing the out-of-date service and habitation certificate. He emailed again on 9 Sept having noticed the advert now shows a Sept 2026 service, and has asked for confirmation of what was done plus whether the hab certificate is now current. He's also requested a viewing (Friday 11 Sept pm or next week) subject to positive answers.
The owner has come back on this. The van is a VW T6.1 Transporter DSG 150bhp with only 12,900 miles, and he tells us it has been serviced twice in that time by himself. On the service: it is booked in for 30 September 2026, and the work covered will be — fresh engine oil and a replacement oil filter; an electronic diagnostic check with a fault code report; a comprehensive safety inspection and condition report; a full road test; resetting of the service interval display and service light; and a check for and application of any vehicle software updates from the VAG database. On the habitation check: the owner's position is that a habitation check isn't a legal requirement on a VW camper of this type and is an extra check more usually done on larger motorhomes. He points out that the conversion is VOSC approved, the gas storage and regulator are fully tested, and the van has a 12 month MOT. He isn't arranging a habitation check himself, but he has previously said a buyer is very welcome to bring someone along to inspect the van, or to arrange their own independent habitation check at their own cost, and he'll make the van available for that.
