Questions & Answers
Scott Bayes, family of 3, planning to live in the motorhome for around 18 months around the UK and Europe, asked detailed questions on MOT corrosion repair, habitation/damp reports, heating/fridge/hot water, warranty, cambelt, leisure battery and front wheel bearings.
The owner says the timing belt (cambelt) was changed this year, and the habitation check was done this year in June. The fridge, water, shower and toilet are all working as they should. The leisure battery is in good condition, but he doesn't know how old it is. He doesn't know whether the wheel bearings have been changed. There are 3 months left on the warranty, running until December. He didn't give details of the MOT corrosion repair, the damp readings, what the warranty covers or whether it transfers to a new owner.
Buyer Scott emailed 16 Oct 2026 asking for photos of the repair invoice, the habitation report with damp readings, and the warranty document before booking a viewing. His seatbelt and heating questions were answered from the listing (4 travelling seats, Truma blown air).
The owner has only had the motorhome for about 3 months, so he doesn't know whether any corrosion/welding repair work was done before the March 2026 MOT, and he doesn't have an invoice for it. He hasn't yet said whether he can share photos of the June 2026 habitation check report or the extended warranty document.

Seller's ID verified by Motorhome PigA quick honest note
Because you're buying directly from the owner, the condition of the motorhome is yours to judge on the day - and that's a good thing (it's why there's no dealer markup). We verify ownership and run an HPI check; the motorhome's condition is the one thing best judged in person. We'll give you a checklist so you can view like a pro and satisfy yourself everything's spot-on before you buy.
Our checks cover the seller and the registers, not the vehicle itself, and they rely on data supplied to us by third parties, so we can't accept responsibility for errors or omissions in it. However thorough our checks are, please arrange your own independent inspection and your own history check before you commit to buying.
