Citroën Motorhomes for Sale

Citroën doesn't build motorhomes - the Citroën Relay is the third member of the Sevel platform (with the Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer) used for high-top conversions and coachbuilts, alongside the SpaceTourer and Berlingo micro-campers.

About Citroën motorhomes

Citroën does not build motorhomes itself, but several of its commercial vehicles regularly appear in UK leisure-vehicle listings. The headline base is the Citroën Relay, the third member of the Sevel family alongside the Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer, built at the same Atessa plant in Italy and sharing the same body, cab and chassis. The Relay uses Stellantis BlueHDi 2.2-litre diesels and is offered in L1 to L4 lengths and H1 to H3 roof heights, making it a flexible base for both high-top panel-van campers and coachbuilt motorhomes. UK converters using Relay bases include Globe-Traveller, IH Motorhomes, Wildax, Sussex Campervans and Auto-Sleepers. Smaller Citroëns also feature on our listings: the SpaceTourer / Dispatch underpins compact pop-top campers from converters like Wellhouse, Sussex and Caledonian, while the Berlingo is widely used for micro-camper "weekend" conversions. Listings under "Citroën" typically include Relay-based coachbuilts and high-tops, SpaceTourer and Berlingo micro-campers, and unconverted Relay panel vans sold as bases.

Frequently asked questions about Citroën motorhomes

Is a Citroën Relay the same as a Fiat Ducato?

Yes, structurally - the Relay, Ducato and Peugeot Boxer are all built on the same Sevel platform at the same Italian factory and share their cab, bodyshell and dimensions. The Relay uses Stellantis BlueHDi diesels rather than Fiat's MultiJet engines, wears Citroën badging and is serviced through the Citroën dealer network, but mechanically a Relay-based motorhome is effectively a re-badged Ducato.

Are Citroën SpaceTourer and Berlingo good for campervan conversions?

Both are popular for compact, "stealth" campers that double as everyday family vehicles, with the SpaceTourer (5-seat MPV) used by converters like Wellhouse and Sussex for VW California-style pop-top campers, and the Berlingo widely used as a DIY weekender. They're easy to drive, ULEZ-compliant in BlueHDi or electric form, and fit in a standard parking bay - at the cost of less standing room and storage than a full Relay.

What sizes does the Citroën Relay come in for motorhome conversions?

The Relay is offered in four lengths (L1 around 4.96m through to L4 at 6.36m) and three roof heights (H1, H2 and H3), giving converters a wide choice of load volume from roughly 8 to 17 cubic metres. Most UK high-top campervan conversions use the L2H2 or L3H2 combination, while coachbuilt motorhomes are usually built on the L3 or L4 chassis-cab.
