2015 Volkswagen Transporter T28 S-Line TDI Campervan — Video Tour (Part 5 of 6)

So a bit of an update in Brian, I'm not sure if I mentioned in a previous video, so there's nothing worse than listening to yourself ramble on, he does have a diesel heater, it's a really good one and it's controlled from here, it's got loads of settings and I tell you what, in just a cold chilly morning, just whacking this on for 20 minutes really warms the van up so nicely, it's a wonderful thing to have and I use the van quite a lot in winter when I'm out in the Highlands. So it's also got a full stove, I've probably shown these ones before, coffee flask and it's got a sink, so it's cold water only and these are filled from down here, loads of storage space, where I keep all my pots and pans and stuff and what I'm going to do now is just turn this on and so the batteries here as you can see, it's absolutely full, it's using solar power, it's got an ion battery which is generally charged via the engine so you can drive for about 20 minutes and it will almost charge the battery up completely. So I'm going to turn the lights on, you can see it's nice spotlights here, here's one there, you just touch it, it'll turn it off and touch it again, turns it on and there's the pop-top roof and I'll just show you how this works and I've also got an extension for it, so I'm going to pop this open and give you a tour upstairs. So here's the van, as you can see there's also two spotlights that light up into the roof area which is also quite helpful for people who are sleeping up there.

It's got two windows, now these aren't actually brilliant, I'll be totally honest about it, because if you live in Britain and you're going anywhere such as the Lake District or North Wales or especially Scotland, you can get midges through here, so it might be worth sort of having a look at getting a different canvas which will have a very fine mesh just to prevent midges getting in. It's got exactly the same kind of window on the other side, I'll just do this up and it's also got just at the front here just a plastic, so this is quite nice again just to let a bit of extra light in at the front. So again just sort of sitting back, you can see it's quite well lit up on the top. So here is the upper sleeping level, so I've now just put this layer down, you can see it goes up and then it can be brought down for people to sleep on.

Again there's that roof section. Now I've got an extension here, so although it's quite long and certainly if you've got kids sleeping up here, there's plenty of room for them. Sometimes it's quite nice if you've got a friend or something that's come along and there's just not really enough room, unless you can be extremely cosy with them down there. I've got an extension which fits perfectly once someone has clambered up and as you can see it slots in absolutely perfectly just to create this extra area and then when you're not using it you can just slip there.
