Motorhome Pig is proud to offer this 1996 Auto-Trail scout as a broker, on behalf of the private owner.

This coachbuilt motorhome is based on the Fiat Ducato and offers a versatile layout well suited to families. The rear lounge converts into a large double bed in the evening, and there is also an over-cab double and a pull-out double, giving flexible sleeping for up to six. The owner advises the vehicle is from a non-smoking household.

The owner advises a bike rack is fitted. Documentation includes the V5C, MOT, service receipts, service history and the original manual. The owner advises the last service was carried out in March 2026. Three keys are included. The MOT is valid until March 2027. A water tank would need to be installed

Questions & Answers

Q

Buyer in Plymouth is keen to buy but cannot drive; asked whether the van could be driven/delivered to her, offering to cover travel expenses.

A

Yes, the seller is happy to drive the motorhome to the buyer in Plymouth for a cash price of £150, payable on the day of delivery. Delivery would take place after the sale is agreed and the motorhome paid for.

Q

Buyer Susan Hines asked about service history, damp/damage, and whether any further work needs completing.

A

No known history of damp or water damage in the habitation area, and no outstanding work that needs completing.

Q

Buyer Rob enquired asking whether the plate stays with the vehicle and whether the front seats swivel.

A

The front cab seats do not swivel. On the registration P9 TWO, the owner says whether the plate stays with the motorhome would depend on the offer — it's something they'd want to agree as part of the price rather than a straight yes or no.

Q

Buyer Paul Rapps asked whether there is a 240v hook-up heater and whether there is a water tank.

A

Yes — there's a 240v mains hook-up on the van. The heating is a diesel heater (not gas/blown air off the hook-up).

Q

Buyer Paul Rapps texted on 3 Sep asking if there's a water tank (answered - none fitted) and whether everything works on gas. Owner already chased on 240v hook-up/heating earlier today.

A

The owner confirms all the appliances are in working order. Heating is via a diesel heater, and there's a 240v mains hook-up on the van.

Q

Paul Rapps (buyer, £6,500 offer on the 1996 Auto-Trail Scout, listing b72e87c0) emailed on 3 Sep asking whether a water tank was never fitted or was removed. Our advert says a tank would need installing, and a colleague has queried internally whether that's right, so we need the owner to confirm the position rather than guess.

A

The owner says the van didn't have a water tank when they bought it, so they're unsure whether one was ever fitted or removed, or whether any pipework remains.

A quick honest note

Because you're buying directly from the owner, the condition of the motorhome is yours to judge on the day - and that's a good thing (it's why there's no dealer markup). We verify ownership and run an HPI check; the motorhome's condition is the one thing best judged in person. We'll give you a checklist so you can view like a pro and satisfy yourself everything's spot-on before you buy.

Our checks cover the seller and the registers, not the vehicle itself, and they rely on data supplied to us by third parties, so we can't accept responsibility for errors or omissions in it. However thorough our checks are, please arrange your own independent inspection and your own history check before you commit to buying.

How Buying Works

We make buying a motorhome safe, simple, and stress-free. Here's how we help you every step of the way.

1

Find Your Perfect Match

Our site is not open to the public. All sellers are under exclusive 90-day contracts with Motorhome Pig, having signed legally binding agreements. We verify the owner's identity and ownership and run HPI, finance and theft checks on every vehicle — the condition itself is yours to judge in person when you view it.

2

Meet the Real Owner

We arrange your viewing at the motorhome's location and give you everything you need to make a confident decision — including a simple checklist of what to look at, from damp and habitation to the engine and paperwork. No pressure, no salesperson — just you, the owner, and the motorhome. Take your time and ask anything.

3

Secure Handover

We provide finance options, handover guidance, and support with the V5 and paperwork. No buyer fees — the price you see is the price you pay.

💚 No Buyer Fees— The price you see is exactly what you pay. We're here to help, not add costs.

More Than Just a Motorhome

Motorhome Pig can introduce you to our partners for finance, free 14-day driveaway insurance, and vehicle repair plans.

Motorhome Pig is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We introduce customers to FCA-authorised partners for finance and insurance, and to Warranty First (a Motor Ombudsman-accredited repair plan provider) for warranty.
