Motorhome Pig is proud to offer this 1999 Auto-Sleepers Symphony as a broker, on behalf of the private owner.

The Symphony is a compact coachbuilt motorhome built on the Citroen Relay base, offering a practical layout well suited to couples or a small group. The main sleeping arrangement is a lounge conversion, making good use of the living space. The owner advises part service history is available.

An honest word from the owner: this van is now in its 28th year and drives like a van of its age — it will travel along the motorway at a steady 55-65mph rather than at modern motorhome pace. Please note it does not have power steering, as it was never fitted. A new set of brakes has been fitted, with around 250 miles covered since. The owner also reports that the interior is completely dry.

Living area, electrics and gas — from the owner

  • The habitation control panel is all working — it shows the water levels in the main tanks and powers up the 12V system.
  • There are instructions for operating the heating system, though the owner has never had cause to use it.
  • On every trip the owner has used the mains hook-up on site, which works well.
  • There is a gas bottle which runs the cooker — the grill, hobs and oven all work very well.

Offered at £6,500, with some flexibility for sensible offers. Offered by Motorhome Pig as a broker. Available to view at Dunfermline, Fife.

Questions & Answers

Q

Buyer Terence Kennedy enquired via the website and ticked "Control panel" — wants to know what the panel covers and that it's all functioning.

A

The owner confirms the habitation control panel all works. It shows the water levels in the main tanks and powers up the 12V system. There are instructions for operating the heating system, though the owner has never used it — on every trip they've used the mains hook-up on site, which also works well. There's a gas bottle which runs the cooker, and the grill, hobs and oven all work very well. The owner has also sent a photo of the panel itself.

Q

Buyer Christopher Lucas enquired via the website about heating/water and asked whether the Truma heating system runs off diesel or electric.

A

The owner believes the heating runs off the gas bottle, and can also work on 12V or 230V mains hook-up. He hasn't had cause to use the heating himself, but there are instructions with the van for operating it.

Q

Buyer Tim Saville enquired via the website about the bathroom and asked specifically whether it has "a shower and toilet". The advert confirms a separate shower cubicle but doesn't mention a toilet.

A

Yes — there's a flushable cassette toilet fitted, in the same cubicle as the shower. The video tour on the advert shows the washroom.

Q

Buyer Brian Wall enquired via AutoTrader/website asking to confirm it starts, runs and stops OK, and to highlight any areas likely to be flagged at the next MOT such as welding, plus anything else he should know.

A

The owner has said everything he can tell you about the van is already covered in the advert (including his honest note on how it drives for its age, the new set of brakes fitted with around 250 miles since, and the dry interior) and he'd rather not go into more detail than that in writing. There's also a video tour on the advert. The best way to look at the mechanical side properly is to come and see it in person, where you can start it, look underneath and ask the owner directly.

How Buying Works

We make buying a motorhome safe, simple, and stress-free. Here's how we help you every step of the way.

1

Find Your Perfect Match

Our site is not open to the public. All sellers are under exclusive 90-day contracts with Motorhome Pig, having signed legally binding agreements. We verify the owner's identity and ownership and run HPI, finance and theft checks on every vehicle — the condition itself is yours to judge in person when you view it.

2

Meet the Real Owner

We arrange your viewing at the motorhome's location and give you everything you need to make a confident decision — including a simple checklist of what to look at, from damp and habitation to the engine and paperwork. No pressure, no salesperson — just you, the owner, and the motorhome. Take your time and ask anything.

3

Secure Handover

We provide finance options, handover guidance, and support with the V5 and paperwork. No buyer fees — the price you see is the price you pay.

💚 No Buyer Fees— The price you see is exactly what you pay. We're here to help, not add costs.

More Than Just a Motorhome

Motorhome Pig can introduce you to our partners for finance, free 14-day driveaway insurance, and vehicle repair plans.

Motorhome Pig is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We introduce customers to FCA-authorised partners for finance and insurance, and to Warranty First (a Motor Ombudsman-accredited repair plan provider) for warranty.
