2009 Hymer S-Class
Fully Managed Private Sale
Key Specifications
2009 Hymer S-Class
Motorhome Pig is proud to offer this 2009 Hymer S-Class as a broker, on behalf of the private owner.
The Hymer S-Class is a well-established A-class motorhome built on a Mercedes-Benz chassis. This example features a fixed rear bed layout, making it a practical choice for couples or those who prefer a ready-made sleeping arrangement without the need to convert the lounge each evening.
Heating is by Alde underfloor heating, and gas is supplied from an underslung refillable gas tank — with the option to run on bottles as well. The owner advises the vehicle has full service history, and that all of the roof lights have been taken off and re-sealed.
Security is covered by a fitted alarm and tracker. There's a built-in sat nav in the cab, an Oyster satellite dish on the roof, three 90Ah batteries and additional sockets fitted in the garage. The motorhome is kept inside when it isn't in use.

Questions & Answers
Buyer Peter Reed submitted a detailed enquiry via the listing page covering dimensions, history, chassis/engine, batteries, tyres, gas, electrics, damp readings and the mileage discrepancy between the advert and the MOT record.
1. Dimensions: approximately 7.9m long, 3.0m high, 2.0m wide. 2. It's an import. 3. Two owners from new. Reason for sale: simply having a change. 4. Mileage: it's now approx 129,000 kilometres, which is around 80,000 miles. 5. Tyres: in good condition, but will probably need changing on age. 6. Batteries: 3 x 90 amp. 7. Heating: Alde underfloor heating (not Truma blown air). 8. Rear nearside light lens: no, not replaced. 9. Windscreen chip: no, not professionally repaired. 10. Sat nav: built-in. 11. Gas: underslung refillable gas tank, and bottles can be used as well. 12. Additional sockets fitted in the garage. 13. Roof lights: all have been taken off and re-sealed. 14. Security: alarm and tracker fitted. 15. Satellite dish: Oyster, model not known. 16. No other electrics of note. 17. Serviced by the owner himself; no habitation checks, as the motorhome is kept inside when not in use.
Buyer Peter Reed travelling a long distance; asked about towing history, battery ages, gas tank age/safety check, bike rack, how the service history is recorded, whether a habitation service could be arranged, and requested extra photos.
1. Towing: yes, it's been used to tow a car on an A-frame. 2. Batteries: the habitation batteries are around 3 years old; the starting battery is a few years older than that. 3. Gas tank: the underslung tank was already fitted when the owner bought the motorhome, and it hasn't had a gas safety check. 4. Bicycle rack: no, none fitted. 5. Service history: the owner has some receipts, and has always used genuine Mercedes parts. 6. Habitation service / gas and electrical safety check before sale: the owner would only look at arranging that on the basis of a guaranteed purchase provided everything checks out as it should. 7. Photos/details: it's a standard tow bar and electrics, the owner can't see any air conditioning on it, and there are some blemishes on the roof. He has sent over three photos, which the team will get across.
Buyer Peter Reed (2009 Hymer S-Class, Blackwood) texted 2 Sep asking for a photo of the actual air con unit, after the owner's reply on 1 Sep confirming both cab and habitation air con (she'd earlier said she couldn't see any air con externally). Relaying his photo request to the owner.
The air conditioning unit is built into the rear of the motorhome, so it isn't visible and can't be photographed.
Buyer Adam asked whether the vehicle has an EGR and DPF fitted, and whether he could carry out a diagnostic check at the viewing.
The owner isn't sure about the EGR/DPF filters, but says the engine has never given any trouble whatsoever. He's happy for you to plug a diagnostic reader in at the viewing.
Buyer Chris Large enquired via AutoTrader today on the 2009 Hymer S-Class (£40,426, Blackwood). His key requirement is kitchen/washroom in the middle for privacy front and rear; he's now said a fixed rear bed is fine provided the toilet and shower are mid-vehicle. The advert only states "fixed rear bed" and "separate shower", so I can't confirm the washroom position.
The washroom and shower sit between the kitchen and the rear bedroom (mid-vehicle, ahead of the end bed). The front lounge does not make up into a bed — instead there's a drop-down double bed at the front, so it sleeps as a rear fixed bed plus a front drop-down double.
Buyer David Frost asked what size the rear bed is - not stated anywhere in the listing or previous seller answers.
The owner hasn't measured it, but believes it's a standard double, and it's a fixed bed (not a French bed or twin singles).
