He asked whether the power pack is also charged by the engine, whether there's a heater, and whether the heater is diesel running off the main tank. The Planar diesel heater with comfort controller is already confirmed by the seller; the engine charging and fuel source are not known.
Yes — the power bank is linked to the DC so it charges from the engine as well as from the solar panel. The Planar heater runs off the van's main fuel tank (no separate tank).
Neil Bennett enquired via AutoTrader on 7 Sept 2026 about the 2021 VW Transporter T6.1 asking "Has the cambelt been changed yet please?" - not covered in the listing or seller details.
The cambelt is still the original — it hasn't been changed.
Ruth Hudson (warm buyer, several calls with JJ) texted today 7 Sept asking for clarification on the diesel heater and the location of the electrical meter. The diesel heater answer is already on file from the owner (Planar, runs off main fuel tank), so I've relayed that; the meter location isn't in our details.
All the electrics are fitted to the underside of the kitchen worktop, next to the fridge in the rear part of the van.
Richard Bryant has a pending viewing request on the 2021 VW Transporter T6.1 for Tue 15 Sept, afternoon. He has re-stated (email 11 Sept) that he will not buy a vehicle he hasn't driven — this was the sticking point on a previous viewing of a 2018 T6 in Dumfries, which wasn't taxed or insured. Asking the owner ahead of the trip so Richard isn't making a long journey for nothing.
The van is already taxed, and the owner will arrange temporary insurance for Tuesday so a test drive on the day will be possible.
